| Counseling Services |
The Guidance program at Cheverus is a comprehensive department that provides academic advising and professional counseling support services to students. Individual counseling seeks to accommodate personal, career and vocational, college placement, academic and referral needs.
|
| Consulting |
Counselors frequently consult with parents and teachers in the best interest of students. While the nature of the counseling relationship remains confidential, consultation usually involves sharing and gathering information and fact-finding, so as to insure the student's academic and personal success.
|
| Coordinating |
The Guidance Department coordinates many activities at Cheverus as well. The registration, scheduling, and grading processes are generated through Guidance. Grade reports and transcripts are issued.
|
| Collaborating |
| The Guidance Counselors are members of a team of caring professionals at Cheverus. They collaborate with parents, teachers, various agencies, Department of Human Services, scholarship programs, and sending schools. Our mission is to assist and encourage students in becoming "people for others" and socially responsible members of their communities, while also helping them learn effective life planning skills inside and outside of the classroom. |
