Cheverus Application Timeline: Admissions Events
Parochial School Visits - Group Shadow Days
In September and October, the Cheverus Director of Admissions invites parochial schools to come to Cheverus for group shadow days. These visits take place in September and October. A Cheverus HomeTeam ambassador is assigned to each student visitor. Lunch is provided by Cheverus.
Cheverus Parents Host Cheverus Coffee and Tea in their homes:
During the months of September, October and November, the President of Cheverus, Father William Campbell, S.J. will visit local Cheverus families in their homes and be available for questions in an informal setting.
Father Campbell will speak about the value of a Jesuit education. These coffee and dessert meetings are open to the public. Cheverus families are asked to invite any students they know who are interested in Cheverus and would like more information about the school. Applications will be available for those families interested. If you would like to attend one of these home-based events, please contact Kate Luke-Jenkins at 207-774-6238 ext. 35 or you can e-mail Kate: Luke-Jenkins@cheverus.org We would love to have you attend!
Individual Shadow Days begin in October
Shadow days for 8th graders start in October with sophomore HomeTeam ambassadors.
To schedule a shadow day for their child, parents must call the Cheverus Admissions Office
774-6238 ext. 36 and speak with the Director of Admissions, Mr. Jack Dawson, to schedule a shadow day for their child. Visiting students “shadow” a student ambassador and will have the opportunity to meet faculty, other Cheverus students and program directors. Cheverus provides lunch for all visiting students and the HomeTeam ambassador. All visiting students must be in Cheverus dress code. Cheverus has a rack of blazers from which a visiting student can 'borrow' from for their shadow day.
Cheverus High School Open House - Sunday, October 17, 2010 On October 17th, Cheverus High School hosts an Annual Open House from Noon to 4:00 p.m.
The Open House provides an opportunity for families to attend mini-classes, go on guided tours of the campus, meet the President, Principal, and interact with a Cheverus student panel. After the presentation from Noon - 12:30 in the Keegan Gymnasium, students will attend mini-classes and parents will attend presentations on Financing a Cheverus Education; College Advising; and the Cheverus Curriculum. This is a great chance to meet the Cheverus faculty and program directors and browse through the activities fair. Student representatives from sports and co-curricular activities will be available to discuss their respective interests and speak personally with prospective students about their participation.
Coffee/ Tea With the Jesuits of Cheverus - November 2010 Sparta Room 4:00 P.M. Date to be announced
This is a great time to meet the President of Cheverus, Father William Campbell, S.J. and to meet other teaching Jesuits, Mario Powell, S.J. and Tom Simisky, S.J.
