It was a wonderful evening Under the Big Top! The circus theme was great fun—from the Sideshow with its funhouse mirrors, carnival cutouts, elephants and the like, to the main tent decorated with flying acrobats, balloons, banners and circus things galore!

Our annual Cheverus scholarship was a huge hit. Everyone felt the energy and excitement in the air as soon as they walked in the door of the Holiday Inn by the Bay. |
Tables were laden with an astonishing array of goods, services and unique items. The Big Top’s Live Acts, its live auction, was an enormous success.
So too was the finale to our live auction, where auction goers were invited to raise the paddles in a $100 bid toward our “Fund a Need” project, the much needed upgrade of the computer lab’s basics: computer tables and monitors. That portion of the auction was an unqualified success and plans are under way to start the upgrade.
| Not only was the auction a success in financial terms, having met its performance of previous years (no mean feat in this economy!), but it was a warm and joyous gathering of the Cheverus community which reinforced and illustrated the reasons we are all a part of this Cheverus family. It was a magical evening…student volunteers in black tie…everyone else dressed to the “nines”…music from the Cheverus String Ensemble delighted the ear...tasty |

appetizers and a delicious dinner…fun and exciting bidding at the silent and live auctions…all rewarded auction goers with memories they’ll never forget.
And we’ll never forget the generosity of all who made it possible. Without your stewardship again this year, Under Big Top might have been under a pretty small tent!

Right from the moment we sold out seating for the auction, we knew it would be a special event like no other. We had exciting draws for door prizes, a raffle for four front row Red Sox tickets on the 4th of July, our now-famous necklace raffle where a lovely pair of Roberto Coin gold and diamond earrings from Springer’s Jewelers was won and, of course, our gigantic $10,000 raffle made the evening exiting (and remunerative) for four lucky winners.
It was a success, our little circus Under the Big Top.
Keep in mind, while this auction is now being packed up by the circus roadies and carted off, we’re already working on next year’s. When the call comes out for creative ideas, goods, services, volunteers, or reservations—be ready to play ball!
