Raising Student Voices and Participation (RSVP)
What is RSVP?
RSVP is a student engagement program sponsored by the National Association of Student Councils and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The RSVP process uses democratic dialogue to give students a chance to speak out and take action on issues in their schools and communities that are important to them. RSVP bridges the gap between the way schools function now and the way they might if students’ input was taken into more serious consideration. At its core, RSVP asks students what they care about, what proposals they have for school and community improvement, and what actions can be taken, in cooperation with adults to implement their ideas for positive change. (RSVP School Implementation Guide, NAASP, NASC, 2006)
