(PORTLAND, ME) Cheverus Alum Honored as D-III National Player of the Week
Saint Joseph's junior slugger Todd Keneborus of Hollis Center, Maine has garnered national recognition as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) D-III Hitter of the Week on April 15, 2010. Keneborus is a 2007 graduate of Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine.
Speedy outfielder Keneborus set a school record for triples, earning him NCAA Division III National Hitter of the Week honors for the sixth week of 2010, covering games of April 5-11, as voted on by a panel of D-III members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Keneborus, a junior from Hollis Center, Maine, hit a scorching .682 (15-for-22) with 12 runs scored, 13 RBI, three doubles, five triples and a home run in a 5-1 week for the Monks. With 31 total bases, he posted a 1.409 slugging percentage, and had a .731 on base percentage. He was 7-for-9 with four runs scored, 10 RBI, three triples, two doubles, and a home run in a doubleheader sweep of Emerson on April 11th, with his first three-bagger of the day breaking the SJC single-season record for three-base hits. Through 28 games for the 19-9 Monks, Keneborus leads the team in hitting (.469, 45-for-96), slugging (.917), on base percentage (.536), doubles (11), triples (10), and RBI (49).
