THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN:
The Tradition Moves Forward
Thanks to you and your generosity, your loyalty and commitment to this school and its purpose, Cheverus has completed Phases I, II and III of its capital campaign. In October of 2006 Cheverus opened the doors to its new 33,000 square foot Rev. John W. Keegan, S.J. gymnasium facility. Also completed are new science classrooms and laboratories, a new conference room, an audio/visual storage room, a testing room, 11 classrooms, an art classroom with storage, 2 faculty work centers, a freshmen/JV baseball field, 2 women's softball fields, 6 outdoor tennis courts, 2 multipurpose athletic fields with a concession and bathroom facility, a women's locker room and restroom, additional women’s restrooms, a women's trainer's room and coaches offices and, lastly, an increased parking area.

Cheverus, too, is planning well for the future with new facilities and programs in the offing. Our plans include the addition of a food preparation, serving and dining facility; a fitness center; a music room; three practice rooms; one studio; increased storage; renovation of the current auditorium into a performing arts center; moving the library and technology lab to Loyola Hall; building a walkway to connect buildings; and offices and meeting rooms. We also plan to create a Technology Endowment Fund and to enlarge our existing Endowment Fund (the primary source of the school’s financial aid programs).
With its The Tradition Moves Forward Campaign, Cheverus is looking ahead, always with the continued emphasis on keeping the Jesuit legacy alive in our school. Already completed improvements, along with those planned for the future, will insure that this legacy thrives. Our students will truly be “People for Others”.
With the participation and support of all members of the Cheverus community we know we can raise the $6,500,000 needed to make these additions a reality.
