Purple & Gold Board of Directors- Meeting Minutes
April 13, 2009
The regular monthly meeting of the Purple & Gold was held on Monday April 13, 2009 at 7:00 pm at Loyola Hall, Cheverus High School. Board members present were Bob Foley, Maryellen Fitzpatrick, Bob Scribner, Stefanie Nichols, Jennie Gwilym, Lisa Merchant, and Margaret Rogosienski. Others in attendance were Peter Dion, Eileen McDonald, Jackie Witham, Gene Ardito, Michael Komich, and Gary Hoyt
I. Call to Order
A. President Bob Foley called the meeting to order at 7:00pm and opened with a prayer
II. Previous Meeting Minutes
A. A motion was brought forward to accept the minutes of the March 9th meeting without exception. The motion was seconded and the minutes were unanimously approved.
III. Old Business-none
IV. New Business
A. Treasurers Report- Cheryl was unable to attend but reported through Bob that there was approximately $28,000 in the account
B. Liaison Report- Lisa reported that John Foster would be the liaison for Boys Baseball. There are still a few postions that need to be filled for track and girls tennis
C. Committee Reports
1. Publicity-no report
2. Fundraising-the baseball team is having a raffle for RedSox Tickets. They hope to raise $4,000. The softball team is having a bottle drive and student/faculty cook-out and hope to raise $1,000
3. Concessions- The outdoor concession stand is being moved into and cleaned by students. Gary reported that the water is on.
4. Expenditures/Appropriations
a. The following requests were approved at the meeting
Dominican Republic Immersion Trip- $947.00 (This money has already been moved to their account
Boys Lacrosse Team Dinners-$500
Boys Lacrosse Team Gas for Team Trip to NCAA Tournament-$500
Drama Festival Competition Expenses- $2,030
Softball Team Dinners, Year-End Banquet, and Senior Gifts- $1,200
Safe Fence for Baseball and Softball Programs- $2265
Project Graduation- $400
Spotlight for School Productions- $490
International Club Food Festival- $200
Alpine Ski Team Banquet- $400
Total Approved $7,985 excluding the $947 for immersion trip that had already had been taken care of
b. At the next meeting we will discuss making a donation to the YMCA for a new score/time board for the swimming pool since this is our home pool
D. Administrative Update
Michael reported that the Freshman Class is at 82% of capacity for next year. Outdoor improvements are being completed in the next few weeks. They are looking for donors for softball dugouts.
Gary reported that Prom tickets will be $25 this year. Planning for the event is just about complete. The spring sports are seeing strong participation. The Ice Hockey committee is meeting to plan for next years tournament in compliance with the new MPA policies. A Soccer Tournament is also being planned for next year.
