"On Saturday, the girls' outdoor track team had it's highest finish in school history.  The team finished third with 60 points (also a program best), just 2 points behind Lewiston.

Emily Turner had a day that will go down in Maine track and field history.  She won four state titles with four personal best efforts and four school records.  She won the 100m (12.70), the 400m (56.57), the 200m (25.92) and anchored the winning 4x400m relay (4:09.51).  She became the first Cheverus girls' state champion ever, in each event, led all point scorers in the meet and set an all time Maine state best in the 400m (56.57).  In back to back years, her and former teammate Jake Dixon, have both recorded the fastest time ever run in the 400m by any male or female, Maine high school athlete.

Sophia Pompeo, Katelyn Gendron and Emma White joined her on the 4x400m relay.  Emily Grinnell was second in the discus.  Emma White also scored in the long jump (4th), triple jump (6th) and 4x100m relay (7th).  Gendron, Hannah Abbott and Sarah Mount combined with her on that relay effort.  Gendron also recorded a 7th place finish in the 300m hurdles with a new personal best.  Abbott finished 7th in the shot put and 5th in the discus with a new personal best.

Christian Gilliam was 6th in the javelin and Luke Trickey was 7th in the 200m with a personal best.  The team will send qualifiers to the New England Championship next Saturday.  Turner has also earned a qualifying spot in the 2016 New Balance Outdoor National Championship Meet."
