Student-Athletes Honored At Winter Sports Award Ceremony
It was a phenomenal winter season for the Stags with five state titles: boys swimming (7th in a row), girls indoor track (2nd in a row), girls ice hockey, chess, and nordic co-op with Portland and Deering. In addition, the boys swimming, girls swimming, and wrestling teams were awarded sportsmanship banners.
On Sunday, winter sports teams gathered for the season’s award ceremony. Athletic Director Amy Ashley set the tone for the ceremony with her opening prayer, “Let us not forget that wearing a Cheverus uniform means we are part of something bigger than ourselves, bigger than our team. We are here to celebrate those around us, not ourselves, because we are people with and for others.”
Awards were presented for girls and boys basketball, boys and girls ice hockey, indoor track, swimming, and wrestling. Award recipients are listed below.
Congratulations to all student-athletes and coaches on a great season! Thank you to friends and family for their continued support of Cheverus Athletics, and a special thank you to team liaisons and Purple & Gold.
