Cheverus swim coach Kevin Haley retires after 32 years

Under Haley, the Stags won nine Class A state championships.

 

Kevin Haley, one of the most successful coaches in Maine high school swimming, is retiring after 32 seasons at Cheverus High, the school announced Tuesday.

Boys’ swimming: Cheverus repeats as North Southwesterns champion

Cheverus Swimmer Recognized by Press Herald

The Portland Press Herald recognized Brim Peabody '21 with an honorable mention as one of the Athletes of the Week, noting:

A freshman, Peabody set two pool records Friday at the University of New England. Peabody won the 500-yard freestyle in the fastest time in the state this winter (4:52.03). He also teamed with John Hight, Quintin Hastings and Phineas Underwood to set a 200 free relay mark (1:34.35), the fastest in Class A this season.

Cheverus High School’s athletic and activities program is designed to further the educational development of young men and women through participation. We at Cheverus believe that the competition, camaraderie, loyalty, and respect for others experienced in athletics and activities will serve as a foundation for each student’s continued growth and life-long learning experience. It is our hope to maintain a program that is sound in purpose, reflects the Goals and Objectives of Cheverus, furthers each student’s educational maturity and health and contributes to school spirit and morale.
