In some ways, the summer is the favorite part of the season as new bonds are formed and cemented through all your work. It’s a time of fresh starts and new hope - and a break from school!  Please read the following letter for important information to help make this a successful summer season.

Cheverus Girls Basketball  is a summer basketball program for girls who are enrolled and will attend Cheverus 2017 - 2018.

The program will run from June 12 - July 29.

WE > ME is a summer basketball program for boys who will attend Cheverus next year. The program will run from June 13 - July 20. Specific days/times are still TBD. I'll post more information as it becomes available to our Cheverus basketball website. Download the registration flyer.

Camp Goals

To teach and develop basketball skills in every phase of the game.

To stress the proper attitude toward family, school and athletics.

Camp Highlights

Daily League Competition -- Everyone will play at least two games each day -- each boy plays an equal amount of time.

Large staff of outstanding coaches to offer expert instruction in all phases of the game.

Free reversible camp basketball shirt.

Camp store where campers can purchase pizza, snacks, lunch and drinks.

One of the best shooting clinics

Lectures and drills -- learn by playing -- players will be broken down into small instructional groups where they will be taught the basic offensive and defensive fundamentals.

One-on-one, shooting, 3-point shooting and slam dunk contest.

Weekly individual and Team awards.

Camp Information

Boys ages eight (8) to fteen (15) are invited.

Daily program from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. The one-week camp will begin on June 26. (The week of June 19-23 has been cancelled due to lengthened school years.)

Boys are grouped into leagues according to ability, age and previous basketball experience.

Outstanding indoor and outdoor basketball facilities.

The Cheverus Basketball Day Camp will be held at Cheverus High School and U.N.E., Portland, offering excellent facilities.

Participants will be advised as to the articles of clothing needed and registration times upon their acceptance.

Cheverus Junior Camp

Ages: 7-8 and 9-10
Focus:  Sports as fun, teamwork, fundamental skills

Cheverus Senior Camp

Ages: 11-13
Focus: Positive attitude, team play, skill development


  • Session 1: June 26 - July 7, Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
    (please note: there will be no Sports Camp on Independence Day, Tuesday, July 4. This day may be made up on any other day of the camp season.
  • Session 2: July 10 - July 21, Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.
  • Session 3: July 24 - August 4, Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 3:30 pm.


  • 2-week period  -- $470.00*
  • 4-week period -- $685.00*
  • 6-week period -- $900.00*

*20% off tuition for 2nd child

Activities are grouped according to age and experience.


The Dawson Sports Camp utilizes the full athletic advantages of the Cheverus High School indoor and outdoor facilities overlooking Back Cove.

Clothing and Equipment:

The Dawson Sports Camp provides two t-shirts for campers. Additionally, athletes should come equipped with a towel, white socks, running shoes, a swimsuit, and a baseball glove. All other equipment is provided by the Sports Camp. No money, watches or jewelry are permitted at the camp.
