Cheverus Giving Day 2019

What is Cheverus Giving Day?

Cheverus Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event on Friday, May 3, for The Cheverus Fund. It's a time for the Cheverus community to come together, reflect on all the opportunities that Cheverus can offer, and to unite in support of our students and the future of Cheverus.

What is the goal?

Our goal is 101 Cheverus Fund donors  -- in honor of Cheverus’ 101 year history -- by midnight on May 3. There will be real-time progress, class leaderboards, matches, challenges, and more!  We hope to raise awareness about the importance of The Cheverus Fund and to increase participation in The Cheverus Fund, especially among alumni and parents.

How do I help?
  1. Sign up for an account at GiveCampus using your email or Facebook.
  2. Make your gift (at any level) to The Cheverus Fund on May 3.
  3. Share the Cheverus Giving Day link with your friends on May 3 and encourage them to give.

Peer-to-peer outreach is the most effective fundraising tool. We’ll make it super easy to text, tweet, and share the Cheverus Giving Day campaign page but your personal connections with classmates will help us move the needle!

THANK YOU!  Every gift, every day of the year supports our students and programs.  You can help by spreading the word and sharing the Cheverus Giving Day link with your Cheverus friends and family and on social media.  If you want to be counted on the online platform, you could make another small gift to Cheverus but we know there are many different ways to give back to the school and we are grateful for your support, no matter how or when you give.

Yes, of course!  We'll be "counting" any gifts we receive in the mail or in person on (and a few days before) May 3, 2019.  Click here to see all the ways to give to Cheverus. Don't hesitate to call Elizabeth Woodcock 774-6238 ext. 183 if you have questions.

GiveCampus provides the online platform for the Giving Day campaign, enabling us to do the real-time tracking, leaderboards, and to share easily with social networks.  Signing up for a GiveCampus account enables you to take full advantage of the volunteer tools but is not required to make a gift or to share the links via email and text.  Download How to become an Advocate on GiveCampus.

Excellent question.  Here are a few reasons:

  • Small gifts add up quickly.  Together, we can do more for Cheverus.
  • Alumni participation creates a broad and diverse base of support.
  • Consistent giving by alumni (even at modest levels) in the years immediately following their graduation increases the likelihood that they will become major donors later in life.
  • High levels of participation can inspire major donors, corporations, and foundations to increase their own support. People and organizations want to invest in successful institutions that others are supporting too!
