Whether $10, $25, $100 or $1,000, your gift at any level will us achieve our goal of 300 donors in one day. Rally your classmates, fellow parents, and friends and join us to support the students, faculty, programs and mission of Cheverus.
Giving Day FAQ
THANK YOU! Every gift, every day of the year supports our students and programs.
We are not retroactively counting gifts but you can help by spreading the word and sharing the Cheverus Giving Day link with your Cheverus friends and family and on social media. If you want to be counted on the online platform, you could make another small token gift to Cheverus.
Know that we are grateful for your support any day of the year!
While The Cheverus Fund is our top priority and we encourage you to support this effort, gifts to any program area or scholarship will count on Cheverus Giving Day. When you make your gift, choose from the options in the drop-down or add in your own gift designation by selecting "other." You can even split your gift two ways!
The generous donors behind the $50,000 "Double Your Impact Match" are giving to The Cheverus Fund (unrestricted). That means all matching dollars are going to The Cheverus Fund, regardless what gift designation a donor chooses for their own gift.
The same is true for the "Parent and Grandparent Challenge" and the "Trustee Bonus Challenge."
Excellent question. Here are a few reasons:
- Small gifts add up quickly. Collectively, we can do more for Cheverus.
- Alumni participation creates a broad and diverse base of support for the school.
- Consistent giving by alumni (even at modest levels) in the years immediately following their graduation increases the likelihood that they will become major donors later in life.
High levels of participation can inspire major donors, corporations, and foundations to increase their own support. People and organizations want to invest in successful institutions that others are supporting too!
Yes, of course! We'll be "counting" any gifts we receive in the mail toward our Giving Day goal. Click here to see all the ways to give to Cheverus. Don't hesitate to call Elizabeth Woodcock at (207) 774-6238 ext. 183 if you have questions.
GiveCampus provides the online platform for the Giving Day campaign, enabling us to do the real-time tracking, leaderboards, and to share easily with social networks. Signing up to be an Advocate on GiveCampus enables you to take full advantage of the volunteer tools but is not required to make a gift or to share the links via email and text. Here's how to become an Advocate on GiveCampus.
Areas of Support
On Cheverus Giving Day (and every day!) The Cheverus Fund is the school's top fundraising priority.
However, you may choose to direct your gift to an area of support most important to you. When you make your gift, select from the drop-down options or indicate your desired gift designation on your check. If you don't see your scholarship listed, select "other" on the gift form and write it in. Below you'll find more information on common gift designations, as well as select scholarships.
Gifts to The Cheverus Fund — the school's top fundraising priority — go directly to the operating budget, giving Cheverus the flexibility to meet the immediate needs of our students, faculty, and programs. The Cheverus Fund is the default gift designation.
The Haley Scholarship honors Kevin Haley's 32-year career as Cheverus swimming and diving coach. The scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the junior or senior class with demonstrated financial need who exemplifies the values of teamwork, collaboration, sportsmanship, and integrity as embodied by Coach Haley.
The Legacy Scholarship aims to ensure Cheverus alumni can afford to send their children and grandchildren to Cheverus. The scholarship provides financial aid to children and grandchildren of Cheverus alumni with demonstrated need.
Established by the Class of 2002 in memory of Robert Batchelor ’02 and Seamus Nee ’02, the scholarship provides immediate-use funds for financial aid.
Established by the Class of 1970 on the occasion of their 50th Reunion, the Class of 1970 Scholarship provides financial aid to students with demonstrated need.
Gifts to tuition assistance provide financial aid to current students. In 2020-21, 70 percent of current families received financial aid. The average grant was more than half the cost of tuition.
Give to what matters most to you! Select "other" on the gift form and indicate the program, department, or specific scholarship you'd like to support on Giving Day.
