Honoring Kevin Haley '87

Kevin Haley '87 has made a tremendous contribution to the Cheverus community over the course of his 32-year career leading the Swimming and Diving team. On the occasion of his retirement, and in honor of a true Cheverian and person for others, the Swimming and Diving alumni, coaches, and other supporters plan to establish the Kevin J. Haley '87 Scholarship at Cheverus.

Once endowed, the Haley Scholarship will provide tuition assistance to a student with demonstrated financial need, and will be awarded annually to a member of the junior or senior class who demonstrates the values of teamwork, collaboration, sportsmanship, and integrity as exemplified by Coach Haley. The award gives first preference to a member of the Swimming & Diving Team. The Haley Scholarship will support Cheverus students in perpetuity.

Help us reach the $25,000 minimum required to endow The Haley Scholarship at Cheverus by making a gift today.

An update on fundraising progress can be found here. If you're interested in offering a matching gift to challenge and inspire others to give, please contact Elizabeth Woodcock, Director of Leadership & Annual Giving a woodcock@cheverus.org.

Coach Haley led his teams to nine Class A state titles, 16 Sportsmanship awards, and has been honored as Coach of the Year multiple times. However, his impact extends far beyond the deck of the pool. Coach Haley focused on guiding each student athlete to attain their personal best, building a strong sense of loyalty to the team, setting high expectations, celebrating achievements, learning from setbacks, and creating a supportive environment. He recognized character, leadership, and grace just as much as talent, and ensured everyone knew that they belonged. We hope you will join us in honoring Kevin and preserving his legacy by making a gift to the Haley Scholarship today.
