Schuele Named Salutatorian

Sophie I. Schuele has been named salutatorian of the Cheverus High School Class of 2021. She will deliver an address at the Senior Awards Ceremony immediately, following the Baccalaureate Mass on Sunday, June 6 at Cheverus High School. 

 

While at Cheverus, Schuele was a four-year member of the Outing Club and served as vice president her senior year. She was a three-year member of the Environmental Action Team and served as president her senior year. Schuele was a founding member of the Garden Club and was also a member of the Math Team and a member of the National Honor Society. She was named a National Merit Finalist and will graduate with a STEM distinction. 

 

Schuele was a four-year member of the cross-country team, captaining her senior year, and a member of the indoor and outdoor track teams as well as the alpine skiing team. She also served on the immersion trip to the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota. Outside of school, she is an active volunteer in the community and is first violinist with the Coastal Youth Orchestra.

 

Schuele is the daughter of Ms. Cicy Po and Mr. Frederik Schuele of Brunswick. She will attend Middlebury College.
