Cheverus High School is a Jesuit, college preparatory school with an enrollment of approximately 370 students. Founded in 1917, the school strives to prepare young men and women to be people for others by fostering intellectual, spiritual, physical and personal excellence.

We are seeking resumes for candidates to teach in our World Language department in the 2023-2024 academic year. Most specifically, we are looking for the ability to teach French; additionally, the ability to teach Latin and/or to teach in more than one discipline would be welcome.

Switchboard operator/ receptionist

 

Reports to: Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations
Hourly Rate: $15.00 or higher depending upon experience; partial tuition remission included
Status: Non-exempt (entitled to overtime), Part-time position Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, year round.

Duties:

  • Assume primary responsibility for the answering of the phones for both Cheverus High School at the central operator location, including directing incoming calls to the appropriate members of the Administration, Faculty, and Staff, taking detailed and complete messages when appropriate, and relaying brief information to inquiries relating to School scheduling, athletics, admissions, etc.
  • Assume primary responsibility for greeting visitors to the Loyola Hall building, directing them to the appropriate locations on campus, paging or calling Administration, Faculty, and Staff where appropriate.
  • Provide support for the Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations including typing, filing, report preparation, copying, and other related clerical duties.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations.
  • Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays

Assistant Athletic Trainer


Reports To: Director of Athletics & Student Activities and Head Athletic Trainer
Rate: $28/hour
Employee Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (entitled to overtime)

Duties:
  • Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses
  • Evaluation of athletic injuries
  • Treatment of athletic injuries
  • Provide education and counseling to student athletes
  • Assist Head Athletic Trainer in administrative duties
  • Assist and advise the coaching staff regarding injury prevention, conditioning programs, and the selection, care and fitting of protective equipment
  • Assist in monitoring environmental hazards (i.e. lightning, humidity levels, etc.)
  • Provide athletic training coverage throughout each sport season, including weekends, holidays, and school vacations when necessary
  • Assist in the care and cleanliness of the training room
  • Responsible for giving basic instruction to athletic department staff members in the prevention and care of athletic injuries
  • Responsible for referring athletic injuries to physicians for diagnosis and/or treatment.
  • Carry out appropriate instructions and treatment as directed by the student-athlete’s physician
  • Supervise and educate student athletic trainers
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and experience in high school athletics preferred
  • Certified by the National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
  • State of Maine Athletic Training Licensure
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
  • Experience with tracking software (such as Healthy Roster) a plus

  • Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization. Cost $70.

  • Employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Individuals are considered to be fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after the single-dose J&J/Janssen vaccine.
Cheverus Tuition Discount:

Part-time employees are entitled to a 25% tuition discount for their student(s) and after having been employed three or more years a 50% tuition discount.
